Audit Opinion

The Auditor's Report provides the highest level of assurance to users of the financial statements. An audit may be necessary when negotiating the purchase or sale of a business, or where management or shareholders find value in having an audit. We strive to perform our engagements with a hassle-free approach and within your timetable. We perform a careful review of your financial statements and analyze other business records in order to reveal important information about your business. Review Engagement

A review engagement provides limited assurance that the financial statements are presented fairly in accordance with applicable standards. Reviewed financial statements are normally required by banks, insurers or other lenders who need some assurance that the financial statements are plausible. A review adds assurance to your financial statements at a substantially reduced cost from an audit. The financial statements are assessed through enquiry, analysis and discussion.

Special Reports

Special reports are often required in contractual obligations where you need to provide some level of assurance to a business partner, a lender, a landlord or the government. Clark & Horner can assist you by identifying and delivering results to meet your specific need.

International Financial Reporting Standards (IFRS)

Over 70 countries have adopted IFRS and now Canada has too. The Canadian Accounting Standards Board has approved the adoption of IFRS for year-ends beginning on or after January 1, 2011. As of that date, publicly-traded companies (and certain publicly accountable enterprises) will be required to report their financial results using IFRS.

 

The effects of these standards are potentially extensive on both an organization's financial reporting and internal processes/policies. Because of this, a significant investment in time, education and managing the change will be required to ensure a smooth and successful transition.

 

Clark & Horner has experienced personnel who have led IFRS diagnostic and implementation engagements internationally. Our staff has performed analysis, assessments, implementations, reviews, and training seminars for multi-national companies. Given our IFRS experience, we are able to assist with the principles and rules of the process and with internal control and accountability procedures. From understanding the nuances with impairment models, to establishing independent liaisons with your auditors and audit committee, we bring Peace of Mind to the process.
